Qatar-Japan Research Forum - Osaka 2025 Expo
We, at Qatar University, through the KINDI Center for Computing Research and the Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC), proudly organized and participated in the first Qatar–Japan Research Forum, held at the Qatar Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka. This forum provided an outstanding platform to strengthen research collaboration between Qatar and Japan, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and emerging technologies, and to explore pathways for impactful R&D and industrial innovation.

Through panel discussions and technical sessions, we showcased pioneering research from KINDI in AI, computing, and cybersecurity, alongside QMIC’s work in smart mobility systems and smart city platforms. Together with our Japanese counterparts, we explored human-centered design, ethical considerations, and real-world applications, highlighting how technology can contribute meaningfully to society.
The forum fostered active dialogue on sustainability, industrial applications, and societal impact, exemplifying the potential of bilateral collaboration. Organizing this event has strengthened Qatar University’s role as a regional hub for knowledge and innovation and reinforced our commitment to supporting Qatar’s national research and development agenda while forging strategic international partnerships.
